Why AS Level Physics?

Universities value learners who have a thorough understanding of key concepts in physics, an in-depth knowledge of the most important themes in physics and strong practical skills. AS and A Level Physics helps learners develop the knowledge and skills that will prepare them for successful university study. Our learners also develop lifelong skills of scientific enquiry, confidence in technology, and communication and teamwork skills.

Guided learning hours

Guided learning hours give an indication of the amount of contact time teachers need to have with learners to deliver a particular course. Our courses are designed around 180 guided learning hours for AS Level. These figures are for guidance only. The number of hours needed to gain the qualification may vary depending on the learners’ ability, or previous experience of the subject.

Prior learning

We recommend that learners who are beginning this course should have previously completed a GCSE course, or the equivalent, in Physics.
